Indira Guzman was born in La Paz - Bolivia - South America one December 28th. She studied in a Catholic School named “Santa Teresa”. This is one educational center that is part of the Theresian Institution known around the world. Her passion have been subjects such as mathematics and physics. After School, she attended English classes and Flamenco dancing lessons for many, many years being the dancing one of her other passions.

Her father, an Economist and Financial Auditor who specialized in auditing financial statements for government institutions - was her mentor in her life. Her sweet mother is the person who supports all her projects. Indira is married and has two wonderful daughters who make them happy. Without the support of her family she would never get any achievement.

At the age of seventeen, she received a Scholarship to study in the Former Soviet Union as an agreement with the Bolivian Government for excellent high school graduates.  She studied Computer Science Engineering at the Donetsk National Technical University, in Donetsk - Ukraine.

When she returned to Bolivia in 1991, she started working in Bolivian and International Organizations. In March 16th, 1992 she started working at the principal branch of the Argentinean Bank: Banco de  la Nacion Argentina in Bolivia. In more than eight years of work in the bank she built up great professional experience and became the chief of the Information Systems Department in 1996. Additionally, in February of 1994, she started teaching as a part time job at the Bolivian Catholic University: Universidad Catolica Boliviana on, the most prestigious private university in Bolivia, in the Departments of Computer Science, Education and then, in the Department of Business Administration. She worked in both organizations in Bolivia until she received the LASPAU-Fulbright Faculty scholarship in May 2000, sponsored by the Bolivian Catholic University to pursue her M.S. in Information Management. Later, she completed her Ph.D. at the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University with a SU Fellowship and a NSF grant.

Presently, Indira is an Assistant Professor of the Colleges of Information Systems and Business Administration at TUI University (formerly Touro University International). This is a fully online university with great colleagues and students. Working with the online media and the technology goes really well with her philosophy.

In all her trips she has been making wonderful friends throughout her life from all over the world who remain in touch through the Internet or just regular mail. Indira loves traveling. While she lived in the Ukraine she visited several cities in the former Soviet Union (cities like Moscow, Kiev, Saint-Petersburg, Volgograd, Lvov, Minsk, Odessa, and others) as well as countries in Europe (for example, Sweden many times, Germany, Poland, Finland, Denmark, France, and Spain).  While she was working in her country, she visited wonderful places in Bolivia, Peru and Chile (for example, Yungas, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Cochabamba, Oruro, Arica, Chimbote, Lima, Tacna). While living in the United States, Indira visited several cities in the country, most of them with her family for vacations but also presenting in academic conferences (places I enjoyed are New York City, Washington D.C., Annapolis, Orlando, Atlantic City, Atlanta, Tucson, Houston, New Orleans, Omaha, San Francisco, Lon Angeles, St. Louis), as well as Canada (Toronto and Montreal).

Indira lives currently in Cypress, California - a very worm place with no snow and lots of cultural diversity.

She loves making friends, traveling and meeting people from different countries, cultures and religions. The biggest satisfaction of traveling is meeting different people, tasting different food (yummy) and listening to their music (dancing if possible).
